Awards Day 2016

The Animation16 Awards Ceremony will be held at The National Media Museum in Bradford on Tuesday 12 July 2016.

The Animation Awards Ceremony is open, free of charge, to all schools, subject to space (all competition winners are guaranteed tickets). Booking for Schools is now open. Teachers: to make your booking please use this form. Tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Animation Awards Ceremony runs from 09:30 to 12:30 (with morning break) when all winning animations will be shown on the big screen in the Pictureville cinema, and winners will receive their prizes. In the afternoon, Other than the Lights, Camera Action! science show (pre-registration required) there are no scheduled activities, and guests are free to explore the National Media Museum.

Please note that the event will be professionally photographed. If you do not wish to be photographed please inform the Registration Desk.

Schedule

  • 09:00 Arrival and registration. The registration desk opens at 09:00. We would ask all guests to arrive and register no later than 09:45. If your party includes prize-winners, please tell the Registration Desk staff. If anyone in your party has any special needs, would you please notify the Museum (learning@nationalmediamuseum.org.uk) at least a week before the event.

  • 10:00 Award Ceremony begins in the Pictureville Cinema

  • 11:10-11:30 Morning break. Free juice and fruit for all guests.

  • 11:30 Award Ceremony continues in the Pictureville Cinema

  • 12:30 End of the Awards Ceremony

  • 12:30 VIP lunch in the Kodak Gallery for all prizewinners and their teacher/parent. All other guests are asked to bring a packed lunch, or they can purchase lunch at the Museum Cafe.

  • Afternoon: Other than the Lights, Camera Action! science show (pre-registration required) there are no scheduled activities, and guests are free to explore the National Media Museum for as long as they wish.

Parking

  • The nearest car parks are Sharpe Street and Radwell Drive, at the rear of the Museum. The nearest multi-storey car parks are located on Hall Ings and Thornton Road (New Southgate). Please be aware that charges apply and details can be found on the Bradford Metropolitan District Council website.

  • There is a drop-off / pick-up point and three spaces for blue badge holders at the front of the Museum.
